I’m constantly surprised and delighted by the number of men
I meet who travel the world on business, vacation or simply because they can.
Over the last month I’ve met men from
Switzerland (married), Italy (gay retiree), the UK (partnered to female) and
Vietnam (gay with older male partner), as well as others from interstate.
Some meets were at bathhouses, some by arrangement in hotel
rooms. These sexual liaisons have got me thinking:
Sex Fest:
The sexual freedom that a travel “window of opportunity”
offers to an otherwise partnered man is very alluring. If he is travelling on
his own this allows him total freedom to arrange meets without any colleague
cramping his style. One of my hookups was with a married man from interstate
who was in town for some six days. When we met he boasted having had sex at
least three times a day (though later I discovered it was higher than that). By
day six when we met, there was plenty of affection, but no grunt left to maintain
an erection. (Note to self: make future sex dates early in the traveller’s
stay).
Rapid Spread Of Infection:
In our modern world we move from country to country in
hours, and that can mean infections can do the same. If your sex meet man has
been having abundant unsafe sex, use caution. Always have safe sex just as you
would with your other local partners. It’s my observation that some of the
travellers throw sexual safety to the wind and indulge unsafely for their few
days away. Any STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) that he might have
contracted will probably remain undetected until after he has gone home.
Remember: Distance from home doesn’t stop the transmission of STIs. It’s not a protection just because you’re in a new city where
no-one knows you. Both parties need to play safe by using condoms for any anal
sex.
Lack Of Sexual Essentials:
If I’m visiting a man in a hotel I always take lube, condoms
(different sizes), a couple of small “cum towels” and a larger standard towel
(for protecting the bed during sex and/or as a towel for drying after
showering), camera, his details (including phone and room numbers if available)
and if you need them amyl, cock-ring and/or erectile tablets.
All of these avoid embarrassment or inconvenience to the
travelling man. Most men travel light and can’t always easily access the sex
essentials as easily as you can. You’ll be thanked for being so courteous and
understanding.
Having Sex Like A Hooker:
Hotel rooms can be a great alternative to home based sex. In
my mind there’s something deliciously dirty about arranging for sex in a hotel
room with a stranger. That awkward ‘how-do-we-start’ moment, the getting naked,
the huge luxurious king size bed and masses of pillows, the marble shower for
showering together, the glass of wine whilst chatting, the ‘OK-it’s-over’
moment before taking your leave – they’re all part of a sexual adventure that
takes me away from my everyday life. I can fully understand the adrenalin flow
that paid sex workers have when going to a new bedroom. And I love it!
Bathhouse / Sauna Meeting:
After you’ve had good sex with the stranger and you begin
conversation with him, you might discover that he is a visitor to your city.
Shower together and then have a coffee together – it’s amazing what stories men can
share with you. Those few minutes could be the most memorable part of your
visit, and as often happens, they could provide interesting answers to your
private questions. Only this week did I discuss the nudity of Cap d’Agde (a
totally nude town in the south of France where thousands live and vacation)
with a tourist who visits the town twice a year. It’s a subject I’ve long been
interested in and a place where I’d love to spend a vacation. Taking time for a
conversation like this is rarely disappointing and it is a nice way to share
like minds with someone who might otherwise have very little conversational
contact with locals.
